Hi all, the storms are Finally over here, but I know they only moved north a thought and prayer for people in Mitch's area who I know are still under threat of flood.
Mom and I ventured out for an hour yesterday as soon as the rain finally stopped. we headed up to the moors River and lake to see how things were.
When we arrived the river had just burst its banks and was flooding into the lake which in turn was over topping on to the flood plain. All the property in this area including the Rangers office is on higher ground so everyone was safe.
I took a few shots and we left as we could see the water rising as we walk and we had to back track as all the paths were under water, Its humbling to see the power of nature . here are a few shots from the day when the flood had just started.
Have a wonderful day;)
Although beautiful photos, am glad that they are not in an area inhabited. I heard today the Thames had burst its banks at a place called Sunbury. I don't know it, but it is now really bad. My youngest had to help in the flood areas in Switzerland when he was doing his 3 weeks per year army service. He said it was something really terrible. The water gets in everywhere. He had never seen anything like it. He was helping to clear the rubbish out of the houses, and also organising things a bit. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI saw on the news how bad it is in England, hope all stay safe
ReplyDeleteThe inclemencies of weather are beyond human control but you could beautifully control your camera settings and share on here awesome shots, as always! Stay safe...
ReplyDeleteSure hope Mitch's area is OK and flood not effected them much. As usual your photos are really nice.
ReplyDeleteHave been seeing on the news here about how bad the flooding is in England...prayers for all.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, as always, Baz. Thankfully, my part of Wales is not prone to flooding, so I was ok, but further north there was some severe flooding, several villages were under several feet of water, many rivers burst their banks. Thankfully there appears to be several days of dry weather forecast now, so it'll give the water levels a chance to go down.
ReplyDeleteSad how destructive the weather can be. The photos are beautiful though!
